Calling all folks with spokes! Dust off your bike, hop in the saddle and join Comprehensive AIDS Program of Palm Beach County Inc., (CAP) for the ride of your life. Take a historic bicycle ride thorough the bustling streets of Miami, over the seven mile bridge and roll down Duval Street in the Conch Republic all to benefit a good cause--HIV/AIDS. Join CAP and five other HIV/AIDS agencies across Florida in the SMART Ride 7, November 18-20. The 165 mile bicycle ride from Miami to Key West raises awareness and money for HIV/AIDS agencies in Florida.

As different as the talent groups were at the recent “People with Voices” talent show, all shared a similar message in honor of World AIDS Day: HIV/AIDS is preventable and education is the key.

Comprehensive AIDS Program (CAP) of Palm Beach County, Inc., recently hosted a free Health Fair open to the public at FoundCare’s Health Center on October 17 in commemoration of National Latino AIDS Awareness Day. More than a hundred attended the event to receive information on HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention education, as well as general healthcare services from a variety of healthcare providers. Guests danced to the music of the live bands and also received free HIV, pregnancy, blood pressure and medical insurance screenings.

Comprehensive AIDS Program Offers Free HIV Testing

On June 27, the Comprehensive AIDS Program of Palm Beach County (CAP) participated in “National HIV Testing Day,” a nationwide campaign sponsored by the National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA). CAP opened their doors to the public for free rapid HIV testing on Saturday, June 27, at CAP offices in Belle Glade, Delray Beach and Riviera Beach.

In honor of the fourth annual National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on March 10, local efforts supported by the Comprehensive AIDS Program (CAP) of Palm Beach County included free testing and education to women of all ages at the St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Riveria Beach.

In addition, CAP is participated in a health fair/blood drive at Wells Recreation Center Complex in Riviera Beach featuring food, music, health screenings and giveaways.
