LEARN about HIV/AIDS. KNOW your status. CONNECT to medical care.


The Learn.Know.Connect program provides presentations of HIV prevention to the community. Through this program CAP teaches the community not only how HIV is transmitted but how to prevent it.

The participants develop different HIV prevention strategies and learn proper condom use. Learn.Know.Connect conducts outreach activities and HIV testing in different venues around the county. Learn.Know.Connect offers HIV 101 and HIV 104 educational sessions.


 

HIV 101
This one-hour session includes a brief overview and history of the HIV virus, modes of transmission, HIV and the immune system, HIV prevention methods, the window period, condom education and universal precautions.

HIV 104

This four-hour session includes an overview about HIV and AIDS definitions, how the virus works in the body, the immune system, the disease spectrum, symptoms, mode of transmission, understanding HIV antibody testing, condom education, HIV treatment, HIV/AIDS & legal issues, legal & policy issues and ethical issues and AIDS.
