Press Conference about Importance of Medicaid Expansion in South Florida

Health Center celebrates anniversary with move to add insured, Medicare and Medicaid clients.

Being a kid isn’t always as easy as adults think. Children may not have to go to work, but they do have to deal with peer pressure and growing pains while trying to fit in. It’s hard enough growing up when you have loving parents at home to hold you and comfort you, but what about the kids who are part of foster care – who takes care of their needs?

According to the Department of Children and Families, each month in the last year an average of 48 children in Palm Beach County have been removed from unsafe homes and have come into its custody as well as the lead foster care agency, Child and Family Connections, Inc. Many of the children have not received dental care due to years of parental neglect or are in need of routine care, said Elisa Cramer, community development administrator with the Florida Department of Children and Families Circuit 15 - Palm Beach County.

West Palm Beach, Fl -- Dozens of doctors volunteered their time Saturday to help hundreds of low income families. And although this is an annual event, these doctors take part in low cost healthcare all year long.

Over 120 seek health care at FoundCare Health Center on Saturday, Feb. 11th. FoundCare participated in the county wide, Medical Home Day, which included 11 other sites with more than 1,100 seeking medical care. Read on for more in the Palm Beach Post article.

PALM SPRINGS — The push to curb federal spending has hit hard at the FoundCare Health Center, where about 5,400 uninsured and underinsured people visit family doctors and pediatricians at little or no cost.
