Palm Beach County FQHC Focuses on Access to Affordable Care for the Whole Family

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – With increasing demand to help underserved populations gain access to quality healthcare, FoundCare, Inc. celebrated its most recent expansion on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its pediatric office at FoundCare Pediatric North. Three experienced physicians oversee the approximately 4,500 square foot space located in the Mollie Wilmot Palm Healthcare Pavilion at 5205 Greenwood Avenue in West Palm Beach.

“Today is an exciting day for FoundCare, our patients, and staff,” said Yolette Bonnet, CEO for Foundcare, Inc. “FoundCare is committed to providing high-quality healthcare throughout Palm Beach County. Our Pediatric North office allows us to offer more services to a pediatric population that was simply receiving medical care. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, we have the ability to offer additional services including dental, behavioral health, and pharmacy services. As we increase service sites, more people are being cared for, and that is an amazing feeling.”

The ribbon-cutting was followed by facility tours and local VIPs were on hand to view the new site.

Drs. Jaime Lambrecht, Janis Jones, and Lisa Ferreira will see patients at this new site for FoundCare, with office hours Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The facility features seven exam rooms and the site is strategically located in an underserved neighborhood that will benefit from the services offered.

“In 2017, the Palm Beach County Community Health Assessment illustrated that nearly 10 percent of the children living in Palm Beach County were not insured,” continued Ms. Bonnet. “At that time, FoundCare made it a point to focus on increasing pediatric services in the county. From 2018 to 2019, during the first nine months of each year, FoundCare experienced a 111 percent increase in pediatric patients. We are delighted to be making a difference in children’s lives.”

To meet its mission of fulfilling unmet healthcare and social service needs of individuals and families, FoundCare provides pediatric and adult primary care, chronic disease management, infusions, behavioral health counseling, laboratory work, x-rays, dentistry, and pharmacy services, at multiple locations in Palm Beach County.

Dr. Jaime Dean Lambrecht, M.D., holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Miami and has worked in the area since the 1980s. Dr. Janis Adelaide Jones, M.D., completed her residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital and has also worked in Palm Beach County since the 1980s. Dr. Lisa Ferreira, D.O., FAAP, holds a degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and has decades of experience taking care of children.

“I am so pleased to return to a community healthcare setting as this has been my passion throughout my career,” said Dr. Lisa Ferreira, D.O. “I never believed people should be denied healthcare due to an inability to pay, and FoundCare gives me the ability to provide care.”

FoundCare accepts most insurance, including Medicaid and Medicare.  Self-pay patients without insurance pay based on a sliding-fee scale. FoundCare uses a sliding fee scale based on household size and income. No one is turned away for inability to pay for services.
